Gadget URL to localhost doesn't validate

When updating the "Gadget View Type" gadget, if the url is "localhost",
validation fails. If the url is changed to "localhost.localdomain", validation
succeeds well enough to hit RAVE-400.
In debugging the calls, it appears that validation fails in
UrlValidator.isValid at UrlValidator.isValidAuthority.
