It cotinues to amaze me that an EFF employee can be som completely
ignorant of the distinction between the authors of the software, the
code itself, and how that code is used by the public. Is this NOT the
very distinction that the EFF is trying to pound into the heads of
Congressmen so that media duplication technology does not become
codified in law as "tools of piracy"? If the EFF can't even make that
distinction clear to their own people, how on Earth are they going to
get a politician to understand?

Hell, if razor is a censorship tool, then so is the UNIX "rm" command.
So is the "D" key. A paper shredder? Censorship tool. Matches?
Censorship tool AND terrorist weapon. All of these things, *if used
inappropriately*, can destroy information.

Razor is merely a tool. How it is used is up to the user. If there
is someone out there who is using razor to silently drop messages
flagged as spam, then your beef is with them (and they are an idiot).
However, I don't recall you ever establishing proof that any messages
were dropped, or even bounced. Do you know which ISPs are doing any
of these things? If so, you ought to be complaining to them, not the
authors of the software. Marc, you are doing the same thing that the
RIAA and MPAA are doing: going after the technology and the authors
instead of those who are using the technology incorrectly/illegally.
Hypocrite.

Finally, If John Gilmore wants to weigh in with a "fuck you", then he
should at least have the sense to get the gist of the discussion
first, and the courtesy to deliver the message himself. Assuming that
message was posted with his permission, he has just made an ass of
himself in a forum frequented by EFF supporters. In that case, fuck
you back, John Gilmore. I sent the EFF my first contribution in
December and this is the quality of the activism I funded? Don't
expect any more from me. You can have your damn hat back.
