No, I wasn't referring to that message, although it would be nice
if someone unsubscribed that address also.

I was referring to the message with the subject "catalog franchiser"
received through this list the other day. It was rather humorous to have
my first email through this list be a spam. Perhaps I am better off
without this list. See attached message.

I've seen an increase in spam sent to mailing lists lately, including several sent to the developers' list for the Dillo web browser that looks a whole lot like this one. (Different industry, but same sort of "we're in China, we want to sell you something.") My guess is that someone's been harvesting addresses from websites.

The real problem here, I suspect, is that the razor-users list is probably open to postings by non-members. A lot of software lists do this to save people the effort of subscribing when they just want to ask a question. Unfortunately, this means that the list is just as subject to spam as any other email address.

In theory, tools like Razor, SpamAssassin, etc. should be able to catch most of these, with the usual caveats for Razor and similar tools that someone else needs to see it and report it first. And so far it hasn't been a frequent problem on razor-users.

Unfortunately, if the list *is* open to postings by non-members (as I suspect it is), then there is no way to unsubscribe the spammer - because he/she/it isn't subscribed in the first place.

So, list admin - is the list open or closed?

Subject: [Razor-users] Razor errors (debug)

I'm using SA 2.55, DCC and Pyzor work well, razor does not. It's got to
be something easy I'm missing...
Any ideas?
Below are the errors I get when SA is started:

If this gets through, it's open. I think it will and is.
