Ladies and Gents We run a medium sized (100000 mails a day ish) hosted email service for various customers, featuring spam filtering by, among other products, razor. I have found that the quality of the filtering good, but reliability of the service pretty poor - most days we get long stretches where all our queries time out (the 15 second timeout mentioned often on this list). I am using the latest and greatest of everything, and our servers are located at Telehouse in london along with several hundred ISPs so I can't believe our connection is at fault. It is becoming tedious.
Is is possible to set up a slaved, local razor server installation? I recall reading somewhere (can't track down where at the moment) that this is possible at a price. Has anyone actually done this? Anyone from razor/cloudmark care to comment? I would be willing to sacrifice a few minutes up-to-dateness of the spam identities in exchange for a more reliable service.
