Oh I found I was using an older version of Rdocs. Now I have updated it and can 
see it.

Look under the GETPROPERTY command.

Here's how ...

01. Start R:Docs X
02. Click on GETPROPERTY Command
03. Select Build Syntax for GETPROPERTY Command
     Category: Variable Controls
     Control: Variable Lookup ListView
     Property: CURRENTSORT

     Notice the Syntax to capture the Current Sort as follows:

     GETPROPERTY <Component ID> CURRENTSORT 'varname'

That's all there is to it!
