Hej,
For 25 years I, off and on, go into research about the Swedish Medieval economy, which I've studied through R:BASE relational databases since the year 1994. The last two years I've picked up my PhD base about the small trading town of Arboga in order to reuse it and include real property prices from Stockholm as well. The difference between R:BASE from the mid nineties and now is - of course - immense. E.g. my comments in those days were put into three separate columns of 60 characters shown together in my elaborated so called 'quick form'. It surprises me sometimes even today that so few scholars do learn about the benefits of SQL, in spite of the fact that it's a tremendously effective tool when testing hypotheses in big databases. And the property prices in Stockholm 1297-1600 were they soaring as they have been doing since 1994? The answer is no. Timber and stone houses became generally cheaper, probably thanks to a more commercialised society combined with more efficient building technique. Have fun!
