Thanks, Razzak. I have studied this and understand it. My question was poorly worded. I need to know the specific permissions required on the SYS tables for the user to run the database. I have put my best guesses on the indivdual system tables. The application was created from scratch, not converted from an earlier version, so many of the tables will never be used. Earlier versions such as SYS_FORMS and SYS_FORMS2 are unused and always will be.

 * SYS_COLUMNS
 * SYS_COMMENTS
 * SYS_CONSTRAINTS
 * SYS_DEFAULTS
 * SYS_FORMS3      SELECT
 * SYS_INDEXES     ?
 * SYS_LABELS3 SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE
 * SYS_LAYOUTS3    ?
 * SYS_MERGE
 * SYS_PROCEDURES  SELECT
 * SYS_PROC_COLS   n/a
 * SYS_PROC_MODS   n/a
 * SYS_REPORTS3    SELECT
 * SYS_TABLES      INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE
 * SYS_TRIGGERS    SELECT
 * SYS_TYPES
 * SYS_VIEWS SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE
