Jim,

If it is a compiled version, then yes, simply point to the .EXE file here.
Here is what I do for uncompiled Rbase Programs that I want to run. Assuming
you have a licensed full version of Rbase on this machine. I then name the
rbase code with a unique extension, such as autobackup.abk I then go into the
file with that extension (here it’s .abk), right click and click open with,
select always use this app to open with, then navigate to the Rbase.exe program
and select it. It also helps if you have the pathways defined in the system
for both Rbase and the folder with your file (System – Advanced system
settings, environment variables – find the path, click edit and then add the
c:\RBTI\RBG{version} and also the folder your program is in) Now you can
select that code to run in your task scheduler and it will run the code using
Rbase.

Let me know if you have any other questions, depending on what version of
windows you are using can change things slightly.

I'll jump in, but you would call the RBase exe passing in a program to run,
can't remember the exact syntax, but something like: c:\rbti\RBGXE.exe
RBase.dat

Frank,

I looked at the scheduler as you mentioned.
I named the task: StartRBASE
I used the at startup choice: at startup
Action was: start a program
At the point where it asks me for Program/script, do I just point to the
shortcut I have on the computer?

Jim,

Task Scheduler will do this for you.. Create a new task and then for the
trigger, select when the computer starts. If this is on a domain, Make sure
the user that you are using to log in has appropriate permissions to run the
task, or set the user and password to run as administrator for the task

What is the best and most secure way to have a RBASE application start when the
computer starts up?
We want a specific application to come up in the shop area when the computer
starts up each time.
