Best Resolution for R:BASE XE Cloud Applications
With responsive design and deploying R:BASE X Enterprise cloud applications on the rise, many developers have come to realize that it is also important to consider the best R:BASE XE Forms and External Forms screen resolution (width and height) combination that would fit on all new Touch-Screen Tablet PCs, including iPads.
This means that every pixel available in the screen for display helps a lot, to avoid the UI looking too cluttered and to display relevant data. Years ago it was something like 1024×768, but nowadays it must be something much higher. Worldwide 1366x768 is still the most common, however 1920x1080 is the only resolution that is actually increasing in take-up (presumably because this seems to be the standard wide screen for modern laptops and Touch-Screen Tablet PCs).
All our recently deployed R:BASE XE applications on R:BASE Cloud are designed to keep 1080 x 700 resolution in mind. The attached screen shots taken from R:CRM (R:BASE Customer Relation Management) running on R:BASE cloud are designed with 1072 x 614.
