Thanks Buddy and Ajay. These variables I am talking about are in the actual report itself, not defined by me in the EEPs. It seems that it has something to do with the views I created. The report was working fine but once I changed one of my views and the variable lookup to that view, I started to get the errors. So back to the old report to rebuild it to see when this problem happens. Then I should be able to fix it.
Thanks for he suggestions. If you set WHILEOPT OFF before the while loop may solve your problem or predefine all variable used in the while loop. I created a report with three sub reports. When in the design mode, I get no errors in the variables I use in each sub report. However when I use the same exact code outside of the report used to design the report, I get a variable error. Actually two errors. I know which variable it is since it does not show on the report when it prints. Here is another aspect of the error. If I go into the design mode first, then once out run my command file, I get no errors. However this variable is pulling from the same view as three other variables and they show on the report with no error that I can tell. As I said, the strange part is no errors in the design mode but two when running the report with code.
