Stan,

Once your R:BASE X.5 Enterprise (Version 10.5) database and compiled applications are configured and perfected with all Plugins, etc., all you need to do is to setup a single Windows 2019 Server as "RDWeb" with Remote Desktop Service [User Access] Licenses.

Once configured correctly with IIS and SSL Certificates, each user can access the R:BASE X5 compiled application using MS IE 11 or higher from any Windows Desktop, Tablet, or even iPad.

The key is to setup the Windows 2019 Server as "RDWeb". You don't need two separate servers to achieve your goal.

Here is a Checklist:

01. Dedicated MS Windows Server Box
02. Windows Server 2019 Standard with Update
03. Windows Server 2019 Remote Desktop Service [User Access] Licenses
04. R:BASE X.5 Enterprise (Version 10.5) Compiled Application with Runtime Plugin Licenses
05. Multi-Domain SSL Certificate that includes at least two names
06. Static IP Address
07. Remote Desktop Access to Windows 2019 Server Box (Port: 3389)
08. Assign or Re-Direct domain name to the IP address of dedicated server box
09. Install and Setup IIS
10. Active Directory Domain Services Configuration
11. Promote server to a domain controller
12. Setup Remote Desktop Services
13. Configure RD Gateway
14. Configure RD Licensing
15. Review Remote Desktop Services Deployment
16. Activate License Server and Install Remote Desktop Licenses
17. Customize RDWeb Login Pages
18. Setup IIS FTP Server
19. Setup User Accounts
20. Setup Folders and Shares
21. Check/Verify Windows Firewall with Advanced Security
22. Publish and Manage RemoteApp Programs
23. Assigning Published RemoteApps for Specific User(s)

Depending on your knowledge and experience of RDWeb, make sure to set aside 26-30 hours to setup everything from start to finish.

Good luck!

Very Best R:egards,

Razzak

Good Morning,

I am currently upgrading to the latest version of RBASE. I have set up a windows 2019 server to run multiple RBASE compiled applications. I have about 30 users.  Looking for guidance on how to configure RDS. It looks like it requires 2 servers. One for the license and the other for application server. We have local scanners and printers that we currently use. Any help on best practices would be appreciated. Currently we use the RBASE complied applications on a Windows 2012r2 server, which everyone access it locally.

Best regards

Stan Gawel
