That's a toughy but I actually did that once.  I don't have the code with me,
but it was something like this.  I don't think there's any X.5 enhancements
that would help.
In my case, the files were named with the unique ID field, so I first created a
temp table with the IDs of the files I wanted moved, and create a computed
column to show the filename.  So in your case:    insert into temptable (id)
select id from table where status = 'ma'and there would be a computed column,
let's call it filename:    (ctxt(id) + '.pdf')

Then I did something like this:set headings off
output myfile.txtselect 'copy', filename, ' c:\temp' from temptable
output screenrun myfile.txt

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Copy files based on a where clause

  Hello Group...
Is there a way to copy a file from one directory to another directory based on
the results of a where clause using an EEP or CMD or ??? within R:base
Enterprise X.5

I want to copy only certain pictures from one directory on my hard drive to
another directory on the same hard drive where the "status" of a record in my
"inventory" table = "MA"

 Thank you in advance
