All:
If you know anyone, or any organization engaged in the volunteer
manufacturer of sewn face masks, likely in concert with local hospitals,
please have them contact me. Actual commercial manufacturers welcome
also.
A friend and I have designed and are now in the early stages of
fabrication of the flexible aluminum "nose clips" used to draw the mask
tight over the nose and cheeks. Our first low-volume prototype units
went out late today for overnight delivery to an organized volunteer
group in suburban Seattle, whose home-sewn masks are now being used in
area hospitals, which have suffered a critical shortage. The one thing
they cannot get are the nose clips, so there we are.
This one group has indicated a potential need for thousands of units, so
we have designed and fabricated tooling for high-speed punch production,
anticipating a broader need. We test our tooling tomorrow.
We hope that you, your families and your colleagues are healthy, and
remain so, through all this.
Best, Bruce
