Tip of the Day: Checking Database Indexes in R:Scope

Did you know R:Scope was enhanced to check database indexes?

R:Scope can check database indexes, where a specific index or all
indexes may be checked.

To check indexes:

1.
Choose "Check" on the R:Scope menu and choose "Indexes." R:Scope
displays a list of indexes in the database.

2.
With the mouse, select the index to check and select the "OK" button.
To select more than one index, hold down the [Ctrl] key while
selecting indexes. To check all the indexes, choose the "Select All"
button. Then, select the "OK" button.

R:Scope is an invaluable database repair tool that allows users to
identify and repair broken R:BASE databases.

R:Scope can check a database for problems and look in the database
files to diagnose possible problems. After doing so, R:Scope can
fix the structure of a database and correct data file errors, as
well as:

. Check and fix broken pointers; automatically or manually
. Check one or all indexes
. View and edit database, table, and column structures
. Search for valid rows of data
. Restores deleted rows of data
. Review table data within a row
. Displays hexadecimal and ASCII representations of data files
. Produce charts showing contiguous chains of data
