Awesome, thanks Clive. Yes, they would be just scanning one item (a barcode produced by RBase) and then selling that one item.

Wedges are one form of the broader barcode scanner group and generally the form that you use by hand rather than one like in the supermarkets where the code is dragged across a fixed scanner. You set the scanner up as to the type of barcode (39, 128, etc.) that is being scanned and what you want to do after the scan (enter, new line, tab, etc.). The scanner then interprets the code, enters it into the field in which the cursor is located and does the programmed action. The main thing to look out for is what codes they read and what actions can be performed after scaning. Because I've never done one of these, just looking for confirmation. There are barcode scanners that you can buy whereby if I put an RBase dialog box up, they can scan a barcode and it will put the value right into the dialog box, right? If I am to look to purchase one of these things, what am I to look for? Are they called keyboard wedges, or some other specification that I'm looking for? Thanks!
