Hmmm, wonder why my pics don't show up for you.   The picture showed that you
can right-click on the Enhanced DB Grid control and "enable drag and drop".  By
doing that, you can put your mouse on a row in a DB Grid and simply drag it to
where you want.

Karen,  For some reason the pictures you include display as the little box with
the red X. This seems to affect only your posts since other post with images
display correctly.  I am not sure how it would work. What I have right now is
as follows: I have a grid with 15 rowsI am displaying records  20 (top) to 34
(bottom) and record 30 is selected (11th row on the grid)If I want to make
record 30 the top row in the grid I have to press the down arrow 14 times, 4 to
get the cursor to the bottom of the grid and 10 to move the grid records up so
row 10 is now row 1 and record 30-44 are displayed; this is very slow. LIf I
click the PAGE UP key it moves the grid up 15 rows (height of the grid) and now
record 15 is at the top row instead of record 20; this happens very fast. JMy
current workaround is to click on the last displayed row and then press the
PAGE UP key and places record 19 at the top of the grid and record 20 is the
second record down…almost there. Solution foundMake current record anywhere in
the grid  to be top row:PROPERTY TABLE KCMOFeaturesBase 'JUMP 14'PROPERTY TABLE
KCMOFeaturesBase 'JUMP -14'  Make current record anywhere in the grid  to be
bottom row:PROPERTY TABLE KCMOFeaturesBase 'JUMP -14'PROPERTY TABLE
KCMOFeaturesBase 'JUMP 14'  It took a little logical thinking but solution
found; somewhat obvious when you think about it. JJ  Javier,  Javier Valencia,

Subject: Re: [RBASE-L] - Enhanced Grid questions  Javier:  I might be able to
help you on the 1st one.  In a version of 10.5 (I saw this at the SAT in June
'19) they introduced the ability to drag and drop within the same DBGrid and it
will automatically renumber a sequencing column.  I had just finished giving a
client a button to move and resequence data, and then this happened!  Replaced
the code with 10 seconds of work.    So if you have a column in your table that
determines the sequence, use this.  This is a print-screen I put in my notes
document.  You enable "drag drop" on the Grid, specify the sequence# column.
No need for an EEP.     In my case, I needed a bunch of totals to recalculate
after someone had moved a row (a running total on each line).  I tried putting
EEP code in several places and nothing evaluated when I needed it to.  So I
ended up putting a "recalculate upon move" button next to the grid.  Of course
that was back in 2019 and I haven't tried it again to see if my previous
attempts would now work.    Karen      -----Original Message----

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Enhanced Grid questionsI am still trying to iron out some
bugs from my forms with grids and I have a few question and hopefully there are
easy answers. J When I have a row selected in the middle of a grid, is there a
command to make that row the top (or bottom) row on the grid? Once we found a
record that we will be working we need to process several records right below
and since the records are sorted in a certain way and would be helpful to have
the selected record as the top row and work down the grid. The next issues have
to do with performance, this is the comment I got when using filters to select
records… “I am starting to figure out some about the performance issues I am
having. If I manually type a street name in the top of the top window to filter
by, it seems to lag and starts/stops a search for each letter I type. If I
copy/paste a name into the name filter field it fills out instantly and
displays instantly. Is there a way you can tell the form not to start searching
until I finish typing or press enter? I think that would help with performance
slowdown.” I have played with the minimum filter length and delay with no luck.
Changing the delay from a small to a large delay does not appear to have much
effect, at least one that I could see. Also, if I set the filter length, say to
3, it starts looking after the 3rd character is entered but we have some
columns that are only 1 character long and they don’t work if you enter just
one character and press ENTER. Last, this comments is about moving about the
grid…“I noticed when I am on the top or bottom table of the segment form and I
mouse scroll or click the arrow key down while having the last visible entry
selected, it lags and moves very slow, I can press the down key 5 times and
wait 5-6 seconds, it will lag out for the 5 seconds, then it will shoot me down
the form 5 spots instantly. However, If I click page up/down or home/end the
results load instantly. It seems to be a similar issue with the above question.
Is there anything you can do to fix this?  I am not sure if there is a solution
since the scrolling is redrawing the screen. Having the ability to place that
bottom row at the top (see above) might help. Any help will be greatly
appreciated. Javier, Javier Valencia, [email protected]:
