Tip of the Day: Specify a WHERE Clause with the DELETE DUPLICATES Command
Product.......: R:BASE X.5 and R:BASE X.5 Enterprise (Version 10.5)
Build.........: 10.5.3.20112 or higher
Sections......: Commands
Keywords......: Delete, Duplicate, WHERE, subset
Did you know that the DELETE DUPLICATES command can now be
used with a WHERE clause?
The enhanced DELETE DUPLICATES command capability allows
the deletion to be limited to a particular subset of data
with a WHERE clause.
DELETE DUPLICATES FROM TransMaster USING TransID, EmpID +
WHERE TransDate > 01/01/2020
The time-saving feature prevents having to pull data out
of a table, perform the duplicate deletion, and then put
the data back in.
Very Best R:egards,
Razzak.
