Tony,

I'm interested in the rollback idea!

Subject: Re: [RBASE-L] - Suggestions on Using AutoCHK in a Command File

Paul,

I have implemented more or less the same procedure as Karen describes with a
few differences.

The differences are:

On beforehand I perform some calculations like counting the number of
columns in all tables and the total number of rows in the database

It looks like this:

  SET VAR V_SYS_NUM_COLUMNS_ATL BIGINT = 0
  SET VAR V_SYS_NUM_ROWS_ATL BIGINT = 0
  SET VAR V_TOTAAL BIGINT = 0
  --
  SELECT SUM(SYS_NUM_COLUMNS) INTO V_SYS_NUM_COLUMNS_ATL INDICATOR V_IND01S
FROM SYS_TABLES WHERE SYS_TABLE_TYPE = 'Table'
  SELECT SUM(SYS_NUM_ROWS) INTO V_SYS_NUM_ROWS_ATL INDICATOR V_IND02S FROM
SYS_TABLES WHERE SYS_TABLE_TYPE = 'Table'
  --
  SET VAR V_TOTAAL = (.V_SYS_NUM_COLUMNS_ATL + .V_SYS_NUM_ROWS_ATL)

Then I perform a reload with setting error messages on.

After the reload I perform the same calculations and compare the outcome
with the apriori calculations

If there is a difference I rollback the database.

Good morning,

I’m running the latest build of R:BASE X.5 Enterprise and I’m trying to
incorporate the AutoCHK command to run in a scheduled task every night
before doing a “Pack in Place”. Anyone have experience with this? Anyone
will to share your code? Thought I’d ask that last one 😊

Thanks,

Paul Buckley
