Great feature!
I R:Style all the time - it catches mismatched/errant punctuation,
mistyped variables, tables, columns, etc and provides consistent and
readable formatting. It's much more convenient now!
Ctrl-Alt-L easily pops up the local R:Style window where I can now
quickly check RStyle.NEW (the tabs can now be rearranged) and Esc out if
there are no new entries. I can cut and paste new terms into the
appropriate RStyle files - all within R:Base. And it's done with one
hot-key - sure beats clicking over to File Explorer, clicking & editing
RStyle.NEW, cutting & pasting into the other files, ....

Tip of the Day: User-Defined Paths to Individual R:Style Files
Product.......: R:BASE X.5 and R:BASE X.5 Enterprise (Version 10.5)
Build.........: 10.5.3.20513 or higher
Sections......: R:BASE Editor
Keywords......: R:Style, RStyle.new, RStyle.pre, RStyle.cas,
RStyle.var, RStyle.exp
Did you know the there is a new option in R:BASE Editor for R:Style to
"individually" specify user-defined paths to the local R:Style word
files?
From the R:BASE Editor menu bar, select Options > R:Style Setup >
Set User-Defined Local R:Style Files Location
Here is a new R:Style method to individually specify user-defined
paths to
the R:Style files, (i.e. RStyle.new, RStyle.var, RStyle.cas, etc.) in the
local configuration.
The separate paths allows for developers to maintain "standard"
variables and
names used across several database applications (vCount, vMessage,
etc.) stored
in one RSTYLE.CAS file, while maintaining variables and names unique
to client
applications (vDepot, vPickTicket, etc.) stored in RSTYLE.VAR files
within the
database folders.
The above would also support several iterations of an application and
database
through the production, development, and test phases.
Developers will be able to utilize consistent formatting and casing
regardless
of where a database is located and eliminate multiple copies of the
same R:Style
files and the inherent maintenance pitfalls.
Very Best R:egards,
Razzak.
