I have a small unlabeled and invisible Enhanced Speed Button consistently located on many of my forms that runs code to toggle DEBUG On and Off.  It only appears if you mouse over it and is is password protected.

Throughout EEPs where necessary (lots of places :), I have DEBUG SET TRACE ON.  When DEBUG is toggled On, the TRACE command executes and I can trace code live.  Also helpful is DEBUG BROWSE ALL FROM <tablename> and other critical debugging commands.  There is a SET TRACE OFF before a RETURN.

A different password in that DEBUG toggle code could run the PROPERTY command as Karen suggested and show the expanded form with Bruce's great testing ideas... like buttons for browsing tables.

Yeah that is a cool idea, I've never thought of doing something like that.

Paul:  I'm assuming he has an eep on after start that would change the width of the form based on some parameter like user: PROPERTY RBASE_FORM WIDTH 300

I can see me instituting this very simple idea!!

Subject: RE: [RBASE-L] - FORM development | Test Mode

Bruce,
Very slick. I’ve got a couple of questions. Is the “display” of the test mode items based on user or some other method? How is the form “expanded” in width in the test mode? What I almost always do is add 2 buttons to most forms; a trace on & trace off (see below). They only display when I run an application and obviously don’t work on compiled apps either. I can definitely see the advantage and help with the fields you are displaying also – I may steal this idea. 😊
Thanks for sharing

I'm closing in on a final design for a "test mode regime" for Forms, wherein the testing tools remain resident, disabled and hidden within an active production form.
I'd appreciate any opinion on whether this approach has any down-side.
The active production Form:
... expands to show test mode activated and the values of key indicators:
Again, any red flags appreciated. Best, Bruce
