Perhaps it's changed, but at one time you had to run the program from the
server.  I had called RBTI at the time to confirm this, and it kept me from
being able to purchase it for a client where the server was offsite.  So unless
you could remote directly to the server (or sit in front of it, of course), you
couldn't run it otherwise

always could run RBADMIN from a workstation since you were just accessing the
original database on the server; however, you had to have RBAdmin installed and
accessible to the workstation. If I understand correctly, you can now
incorporate the RBAdmin capabilities into the application itself (provide you
have the plugin) and access them from within the application instead of having
o start RBAdmin.I have a section in my application that has lots of maintenance
options and for use by administrators only and requires a special password to
access it;. This would fit perfectly there and I would be able to access the
application remotely via RDP and run the new RBAdmin features remotely. Nice
feature.  Javier,  Javier Valencia, PE913-915-3137    From: 'Karen Tellef' via

performRBAdmin functions, like clearing ghost connections, from a
workstationrather than needing to be at the server?  Karen      -----Original

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Tip of the Day: Added Plugin to RBAdmin for Command
FunctionalityTuesday, June 29, 2021  Tip of the Day: Added Plugin to RBAdmin
for Command FunctionalityProduct.......: RBAdmin X.5 and RBAdmin X.5 Enterprise
(Version 10.5)Build.........: 10.5.3.20624 or higherSections......:
PluginsKeywords......: RBAdmin, PLUGIN, Users, Reset, Disconnect  Did you know
that the RBAdmin software product now includes aplugin (.RBM), providing the
ability to capture user connectioninformation from the live database though
R:BASE commands?  The user count, list of connected users can be captured.
Theability is available to reset the user count, and clear ghostconnections.
When RBADMIN is ON, users may also be disconnectedfrom the database.  Syntax:
 PLUGIN RBAdmin vResult|ACTION <value>|<parameter> <value>  Where:    vResult
is the text variable to return the status  Actions:  GETCOUNTReturns the user
count to the vRBTIUserCount variable  GET_USERSReturns the comma delimited user
names to the vRBTIUsers variable  RESET_COUNTClears ghost database connections,
when one user is connected  DISCONNECTDisconnects the comma delimited list of
users. If USERS isempty then all connections are closed.
RESET_RBADMINDisconnects all users except the current session. The action usesa
combination of USERNAME+PATH to identify the current session.  The DISCONNECT
action requires for all connections to have RBADMINON. The disconnect logic is
based in the RBADMIN_*.BIN file. Becauseusers are based on the Windows "User
Name", it can't be used todisconnect other sessions of the same user without
disconnecting thesession that issued the DISCONNECT action. Be sure to
DISCONNECTusers other than yourself.  Examples:    PLUGIN RBAdmin
vUserCountResult|ACTION GET_COUNT    PLUGIN RBAdmin vGetUsersResult|ACTION
GET_USERS    PLUGIN RBAdmin vResetCountResult|ACTION RESET_COUNT    PLUGIN
RBAdmin vDisconnectResult|ACTION DISCONNECT|USERS Jim,Bob,Jeff    PLUGIN
RBAdmin vResetRBAdminResult|ACTION RESET_RBADMIN  Current users must download
the latest RBAdmin installer from theR:BASE Updates Web site, and reinstall the
program. Please be sureto stop the R:BASE Messenger service prior to
uninstalling RBAdmin,as per the software uninstall
instructions.https://www.rbaseupdates.com/  Very Best R:egards,  Razzak.
