Tip of the Day: Enhanced LIST Command for Autonumbered Columns and Databases
Product.......: R:BASE X.5 and R:BASE X.5 Enterprise (Version 10.5)
Build.........: 10.5.4.11007 or higher
Sections......: Commands
Keywords......: LIST, LIST TABLE, LIST COLUMNS, LIST DATABASES

Did you know that the LIST command has been enhanced to provide
additional details when displaying autonumbered column definitions
and databases?

When using the LIST TABLE and LIST COLUMNS commands, the column
definitions for autonumbered columns now include the next autonumber
value and the increment. Previously, only the LIST AUTONUM command
would display these specific attributes.

R>LIST COLUMN ContID

 Column Name Table Name Attributes
 ------------ ----------------- -------------------------------------
 ContID ContactCallNotes Type : INTEGER
                                Consrnt: FOREIGN KEY REF Contact
                                Comment: Contact ID
Contact Type : INTEGER NOT NULL AUTONUMBER
Next Value: 1047. Increment by: 1.
                                Consrnt: PRIMARY KEY REFERENCED
                                Comment: Contact Automated ID

The LIST DATABASES command was updated to display the current folder
path and name, whereas previously "Databases in current directory"
was written to the header.

R>LIST DATABASES

Databases in current directory C:\RBTI\RBGX5E\Samples\RRBYW20\

ABC1234 10/04/2021 09:51 AM
ConComp 10/01/2021 11:39 AM
RRBYW20 10/06/2021 01:26 PM
RRBYW20_1 09/01/2021 11:46 AM
RRBYW20_2 08/27/2021 05:29 PM
RRBYW20_20201104 12/08/2020 10:25 AM
RRBYW20_RBIO 12/08/2020 10:45 AM
RRBYW20_Reload 02/19/2021 04:31 PM

It is more useful to list the actual name of the current directory,
since users may maintain different versions of the same database
in different directories.

Very Best R:egards,
