Ha, Ha....Good one, Bruce.
You are in my basket for a drink at the next R:Gathering.....now that covid is
down, maybe the R:Base team will have another training / review seminar in the
future.    Maybe it would be a R:Celebration....are you listening Razzak?
With a great organization like R:Base, with Razzak, John, and other fellow
users like Karen, you, and many others, offering excellent timely advice on how
to achieve our programming goals is exactly what is needed.    We thank all
within this group for their kind insight and assistance.
Hope to see you at the next R: group meeting.
Regards,Jim

WOW   !!!   Just wanted to say thanks again as this is exactly what I wanted,
and it works perfect.  Never had to use a Launch of a BAT file before.
After I exicute the Launch of .the BAT command, I can then load the values into
a table for further processing.Works like a charm.   I owe you a lunch at the
next R:Gathering.......Thanks again

Absolutely!  What you want to do is create a batch file (.BAT) that has your
DIR command and you "LAUNCH" the .BAT file from within RBase.  Either have the
batch file permanently there or you can create the batch file on the fly if you
want it dynamic

Subject: [RBASE-L] - DOS command line prompt

Hello, group:
I have an application in which I need to find the names of some CSV payment
files.  The payment files are composed of the word 'PAYMENTS_' followed by the
date in 'YYYYMMDD format.  ie. 'PAYMENTS_20220302.CSV', or
'PAYMENTS_20220310.CSV'.  I have been playing around with the DIR command from
a Command prompt., which produces the names of needed files.
When using the following command in a command prompt, (dir payments_* /B
>myfile), it puts the names of the payments file into a file called 'myfile',
which is exactly what I need..
The question:  Is their any way that this dos command can be executed within a
RBase program , such as ZIP, Launch, ??????? ?Ver RBGX5E
Thanks for any input.
