Tip of the Day: Automatically Rotate Images from EXIF File Information
Product.......: R:BASE X.5 and R:BASE X.5 Enterprise (Version 10.5)
Build.........: 10.5.4.20616 or higher
Sections......: Reports/Labels, Commands
Keywords......: PROPERTY, Image, Rotate, EXIF

Did you know that you can specify whether or not to have images automatically rotate in reports and labels?

A new PROPERTY command parameter for reports and labels, was introduced to auto-rotate images based upon the EXIF file information.

PROPERTY APPLICATION AUTO_ROTATE_IMAGE ON|OFF

When ON, the AUTO_ROTATE_IMAGE property will auto-rotate images using EXIF information for DB Image and Variable Image controls. The default value is OFF.

EXIF is short for Exchangeable Image File, a format that is a standard for storing interchange information in digital photography image files using JPEG compression. The EXIF data may contain details to rotate the display by a certain degrees value, which can be interpreted by R:BASE!

Very Best R:egards,

Razzak.
