Tip of the Day: Documenting Custom EEPs
Product.......: R:BASE 11
Build.........: 11.0.1.40516 or higher
Section.......: Database Explorer
Keywords......: Custom EEP, Save to Folder, Document

Did you know you can save all Custom EEPs (and other stored code) to files from selected forms, reports, labels, and external forms in the Database Explorer?

A new "Save EEP To Folder" menu option has been added to the Forms, Reports, Labels, and External Forms areas. This option allows you to save the EEP code for the selected objects to a folder.

Before saving, a prompt for the destination folder will be displayed. Within the specified destination folder, a file will be created for each object based on the object name and assigned the DAT file extension (Form EEPs > FormName.DAT, Report EEPs > ReportName.DAT, etc.).

This allows for "all" selected objects to be saved directly from the Database Explorer
for documentation purposes.

In addition to saving the EEPs, a quick peek at the EEPs is available by selecting the "EEP Quick Peek" menu option [Ctrl+Alt+Q], which opens a temporary file in R:BASE Editor containing all EEP code for the selected object.

Within the Form/Report/Label Designers, the EEP code for the individual object may also be gathered by selecting "Form/Report/Label > Document Custom EEPs" from the menu bar. The menu generates Custom EEP documentation for the clipboard, printer, text file, PDF file, and the R:BASE Editor, or it launches the EEP Map utility.

Very Best R:egards,

Razzak.
