Subject Re: [RBASE-L] - On Exit EEP

Thanks to Karen and Bruce for your comments. I think the first scenario Karen described is what is happening.

The only thing I remember is that if the user would click on the same control but in a different row, the EEP wouldn't file. That's because RBase doesn't think the user has "exited" the control because they are still on it (albeit in a different row). There was never a workaround for that other than putting EEPs on row entry/exit instead.

Also, control isn't tested if you have a Speed Button on the form and the user clicks on that. Speed Buttons don't take focus. Once I learned that I never found a use for those buttons.

Maybe either of these is happening?

RBase List,

I have a DB Date and Time Edit control in a scrolling region in RBase 11, with code in this control's On Exit EEP. My question is what actions cause this EEP to fire. My tests indicate that pressing Enter or Tab, or clicking on another control on the same row of the scrolling region will cause the code in the On Exit EEP to execute. However, I suspect that users occasionally change the date in the control and then click somewhere else on the form without taking one of the aforementioned actions, so that the code in the EEP never executes.

Can anyone suggest a strategy to get around this problem?

Thanks,
