One small problem I just stumbled over. The Swedish character å seems to be "unknown" for the R:BASE 11 in column names. As an Economic Historian I often have a column for the year of each row, in Swedish år. It can be solved in many ways, like me going English in renaming the columns yyyy, but I gues this will be solved in an update to come. I made R>DIR to be sure that I had browsed to the right place. And then in HELP I found the command R>CONVERT dbname et voilà completely four new R:BASE RX1-4! (But first I had made a backup on an external drive - of course.) My first database went fine, the second one did not work. Not until I in R:BASE 10.5 had performed the R> PACK and AUTOCHK FULL commands. I guess that the old files 10.5 can be deleted after conversion. New R:BASE version, certainly better than ever; just have to R>CONVERT for a while to come.
