Tip of the Day: Custom Annotations in PDF Form Reports
Product.......: R:BASE 11
Build.........: 11.0.1.40815 or higher
Section.......: Reports/Labels
Keywords......: PDF Form Control, PDF Annotation, Opacity
Did you know that a custom PDF Annotation may be used in reports with PDF Form Controls?
The new Opacity setting for the PDF Annotation label allows you to specify the object's visibility.
The PDF Annotation label places an object on the PDF output that displays a hint and/or note that expands when selected in the PDF viewer program.
To customize the PDF annotation label, you can use the annotation Title (variable-based or static), Subject, Contents (variable-based or static), Color, Opacity, and seventeen (17) annotation Types.
However, if the variety of annotation types does not fit your requirements, custom text or an image may be placed behind the PDF Annotation label. The opacity is then set to 0 to make the label invisible on the PDF output. The annotation must be on top of the custom text/image.
The resulting text/image will appear as the PDF Annotation label, expanding any defined note when clicked.
