Tip of the Day: File Type Filtering and Added Columns for the File List Box
Control
Product: R:BASE 11
Build: 11.0.2.20107 or higher
Section: Forms
Keywords: File List Box, Column, Read Only, Hidden, Directory, Size, Creation
Time

Did you know that the File List Box control has been enhanced to
include/exclude files based on their attributes and may now display additional
columns for the displayed files?

Both new features are available within the "Effects" tab of the File List Box
property editor.

The "Additional File Details" options include Size, Creation Time, Last Access
Time, and Last Write Time values as available columns for files.

The "File Type" options include/exclude files from the list box based upon the
attributes: Read Only, Hidden, System Directory, Archive, and Normal. Normal
specifies that the file has no unique attributes.

The below FILETYPE properties may also be added/removed within the property
set, using the following syntax:

PROPERTY RBFileBox1 FILETYPE '+DIRECTORY'
PROPERTY RBFileBox1 FILETYPE '+NORMAL'
PROPERTY RBFileBox1 FILETYPE '+READONLY'
PROPERTY RBFileBox1 FILETYPE '-HIDDEN'
PROPERTY RBFileBox1 FILETYPE '-ARCHIVE'
PROPERTY RBFileBox1 FILETYPE '-SYSTEM'

The above PROPERTY commands will display the directory for navigation, with
Normal and Read Only files displayed. Hidden, System, or Archive files will not
be displayed in the File List Box!

The File List Box may be further customized to better display and launch files
directly from the control!

Very Best R:egards,

Razzak.
