But can't go wrong with your .DAT sequence neither.

There are several commands related to STSTICBD, all of which improve performance.
In my *,DAT file I have (in addition to others):
SET MULTI ON
SET STATICDB ON
SET FASTLOCK ON
SET ROWLOCKS ON

CONNECT dbname

Bruce Chitiea put together an excellent, succinct chart of the commands, how to use them, and the order in which they should occur.
Maybe he'll chime in here...
