Tip of the Day: Unloading Objects into Multiple Files
Product: R:BASE 11
Build: 11.0.2.20415 or higher
Section: Database Explorer
Keywords: Unload, Multi-file, Form, Report, Label, View, Stored Procedure

Did you know that you can unload several database objects (i.e., forms) into
separate files without having to unload each object individually?

The R:BASE 11 Database Explorer includes an additional "Unload ... Multi-file"
menu option for Views, Stored Procedures, Forms, Reports, and Labels, allowing
multiple selected items to be unloaded and placed into separate files.

Before the feature, users were required to unload each object individually if
separate files were needed, which is less than ideal, especially with many
forms, reports, and other documents that must be unloaded.

There are now two Unload options for each area:

Unload Form(s) - unloads one or more selected forms into a form file (.frm).
Each unloaded form file is accompanied by a large object data file (.lob). A
single unloaded form includes the database name, form name, and form version
number in the file name.

Unload Form(s) (Multi-file)... - unloads one or more selected forms, where each
form is placed into separate form (.frm) and large object data (.lob) files.
Each unloaded form includes the database name, form name, and form version
number in the file name.

Very Best R:egards,

Razzak.
