Thanks to Doug, Tony, and Karen for their replies to my grid color question.I
must be dense at some things, as this took quite awhile for me to grasp how
this could be done. Thanks to Karen, while I didn't use her method, she usually
has some nifty ways to accomplish things, but I used the methods recommended by
Doug and Tony as I needed to understand how to get colors to work within the
grid.
Again, I have it working quite nicely,,   What a group !!!Thanks again,
everyone.
Jim.

Jim:  before the enhancement below was added, I did it a decidedly low-tech
way.  If you have an extra column available in your permanent table, or if you
create a temp working table, then I would add a column, say   tmpColor TEXT 20,
and in code (or a calculated column definition) do something like set it to
RED where Balance < 0.  Then on the DBGrid go to Effects > Row Colors > Row
Background Color Field -- and select tmpColor as the column name.

Jim,

Select the proper column in the grid and then the properties.

Choose Color

 Hi, Group:
I have used scrolling regions for years, but now (at last) have moved on with
EH DG grids.  I have an application for villages where the operator can do an
inquiry on a consumer and view all of their detail transactions with balances
within the grid.  There is no editing of fields within the grid, just viewing.
The questions I have are:  - Can the grid, when displayed have the background
color or the font color of the balance fields be different when the balance is
negative ?   -  Where / how could I do this changing of colors ?
  Thanks in advance .
