Thanks, Razzak, but I _think_ that I've already done everything that you suggest and I _know_ that you & RBTI are doing your best and that everyone on this list is trying to help those of us who seem to have this problem.
It's because we can't get an obviously consistent sequence of events that we need help. From the latest messages it _seems_ as if forms are implicated in a large proportion of the crashes. Maybe it's also to do with the version of Windows that's in use. What does seem to be true is that all the tools available to help us - Trace / RCode / even the brains on this list - are not able to find the answer - yet. For my part, I'd be happy to know that the problem is one that is known about by RBTI and doesn't occur in v7. Unless it were to turn out to be a _very_ simple problem to solve I'm not expecting you to correct it in v6.5++ and I think we can probably already say it's not simple so that question doesn't arise. In the mean time does anybody else who is having these crashes have any of the following conditions: Is the form that might be the cause one that is based on a temp table? Do you have any "set" commands that are database linked but with no database connected prior to calling the form? Or maybe ones that need the owner password? Do you have any other commands that return an error that you believe that you can safely ignore prior to calling the form? Disconnect when there is no db connected, for example. Do you have any "unusual" software running while in R:Base - crashguard or a virus scanner, perhaps? Somewhere there's got to be a common denominator that we can discover if we keep trying.
