Oma, Buddy, Razzak, Thanks for your response. Of course &filename not .filename that's a duh for me. (are you keeping score Sami?) 7.0 will be an easy sell for this customer if, as you say Razzak, I can do it all from within R:base. Right now (we are scanning checks) customer will have to load both the scanning program and rbase, scan a check, click on rbase enter customer no. (or name) then insert the image into rbase, repeat the procedure for each check. I chose to create a nw database for the check imaging and sconnect to his main database to get the customer info. In this way he can retrieve the check by customer no, name, address, or phone. He was using a program called 'word doc' or something that he got from another programmer (who is no longer available), he doesn't know how to change the year in that program and neither do I, so he is excited about linking up with rbase. Too bad he didn't consult with me first!
