Absolutely. For us, it is common practice and an invaluable tool. For one thing, doing an unload/input directly on the server is orders of magnitude faster than using a workstation even on the same network segment.
Program files are installed on each workstation, database is on NT4.0 server. I access server remotely via modem with PCAnywhere. Is it safe to install program files on server in order to run Rbase remotely? ~Claudine
