Ben : >> This solves the problem... mostly. The routine runs fine now on the Win98 machine I have access to with pcAnywhere. There is a Win2000 machine on which there are still problems... but I suspect there must be another issue. I'll learn more tomorrow. <<
I have a problem with PKZIP with NT/W2K but it has nothing to do with yours (apparently) : Happen on output to a floppy when the zipped file is bigger than 1,44 Mb. If floppy #2 contains files to be deleted, PKZIP can't delete them even with "-&wv" or "-&fv" parameters. All floppy (except # 1) must be manualy cleaned before runing PKZIP ..... No problem with W95/W98SE Using PKZIP/UNZIP 2.50 Because of this problem, I am looking for an other ZIP able to zip/unzip a given set of files to a given directory. Do you know any ? What I want is backup/restore zipped file without user's action : it show accept parameters at command prompt or thru a text script. >> What happen if you run yout BAT file at the DOS prompt ? > This works fine even if pkUnzip is not set to read only. << Do you mean that the same BAT file don't run the same way at DOS prompt and at R> prompt ? Very strange .... >> When run by zipping out of RBase, and pkUnzip not set to read only, I just get an "error in exe" error. This occurs _after_ the routine has been run one time... so the file is corrupted after pkUnzip has extracted the target zip file. << Are you sure that the zipped file don't contain a file named PKUNZIP ? I suppose that you had already this idea .... but who knows ..... J.M. GRATIAS, Logimatique
