The article Rob Vincent referenced was helpful, but it looks like what Wayne did before there was a RANDOM() function in R:Base. I think the RANDOMIZE command I am remembering goes way back to my days with Kemeny and Kurtz in about 1969. Have a good time in Seattle! Bill
