Hello Thomas, Do you really need a special program? It takes a touch longer but you could just highlight all the text in the Word doc with CTRL-A and then copy it. There are quite a few text editors available that you could paste it into and then push a button and they will do a word and or character count for you. Specifically, NoteTab Pro will do it.
