Add me to the list of "no kidding"! I have often seen TRACE go into that short bar. I thought it was "breaking" so I would click on the "X", which brought me to the r> prompt, never thinking to see if I could maximize that little bar! This has been sporadically happening to me on versions since 6.5, original, as far as I remember.
