On my XP I get the little R:Base icon to
the right and the RBase icon on the task bar. I also get the form
minimized icon just above the taskbar.

Yes. TO get the menu back you have to
click on the menu icon on your desktop.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - RHide
My clients have never liked the fact that, under
6.5++, that they cannot minimize the main menu form that I design. Other
Windows apps run in smaller windows, so the main menu always shows in the
background. Very unprofessional. Yet when I used 'RHIDE', they
didn't see any indication on the task bar that RBase was running so they
wind up opening up multiple versions of the app. I know alot of
people use RHIDE -- this doesn't bother your clients?
I'm confused
by the behavior I'm seeing in 7.0. I have an icon that runs the
rbg7.exe program, and the "start in" directory points to my database
directory where it will automatically run my rbase.dat file: conn
oakfores rhide edit using mainmenu
rshow exit Minimizing the MainMenu form puts an RBase icon on the
task bar (nice) and puts a form icon in the 'desktop' area. In XP it
also puts a little RBase icon picture at the far right area of my
task bar where startup processes are usually shown. If I have
another app maximized on this screen (like this email editor) and I
click on the RBase icon on the task bar (the big one), it seems to
totally disappear, looking like I had just closed RBase.

I have a client chomping on the bit to upgrade to 7.0
but one of his main reasons is hoping the RHIDE would behave better.
He wants to go to any workstation and glance at the task bar to see if
they have RBase running. I would have to tell him that he needs to
also look over to the far right to see if there's a picture there.
And I don't know how it works with
Win98....
