That's right Mike - this is the routine behavior, but if there is a way
around it - I for one want it. With all the pressure to use Microsoft
products, and having them shoved down our throats, why would we use R:Base
if it didn't have features superior to Access?

What I really would like are the features of the Application Designer -
with the ability to put buttons, etc on the main window itself, not just a
drop down list with set fonts, etc. They have done a great job in enhacing
the App Designer, but in essence it is still a box on the screen with menus
on top or the side - not within the box.

Many of the features I liked are not yet implemented in this version yet -
for instance the "TIMEOUT" command. I have a phone directory (in 6.5++)
that is distributed all around the network that times out after a set
number of hours on non-use. Also use it for a complex surgical scheduling
program. this allows unattended maintenance at night without users in the
system.

As long as we keep suporting RBTI, these features will surely be
implemented one way or another.....we have seen it happen withi this large
beta program!

If you have an application in Access, you will notice this is exactly the
behavior there as well.
When you minimize your top level or starup form, it minimizes within the
main window of Access. I
know some of you will say when a word doc is minimized it goes to the
taskbar and this is true
because every document is another instnce of word.
