XP requires the person using the resource to have a local account and
password. That could be your problem, or you could be running out of
connections like you mentioned. Another thing to do is always delete
the port before reassigning it with NET USE. The last thing would be to
quit blaming Bill Gates for you running DOS applications.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Stupid XP Question

Small Link to R:Base for dos!
Mainly this is Bill Gates problem!
Since I use DOS 6:5++ Glorious version latest! I use the net use command
to map printers to LPT ports
In my small network I run a printerserver within a workgroup running XP
(I know I should run a real server OS but I am short for euros and
prefer to give my sparse dollars to RBTI)
Now and then my user lose contacts with printers
Normally no problem but when I connect 3 customers by VPN and some
laptops to download files at my customer site I reach the limit of 10
users to a XP computer!
Can that be the reason the latest user does not get connected to to LPT
port??
Forgive me for asking a Bill Gates question at R:Best Level List
