Mark,
If you are using 6.5++ you can buy / download fonts for code 39, UPC, and
all types of bar codes and use tham as a font. The only problem is that
they generally have to be installed on the PC using the program so r:base
can find the font list.  Check Worth Data in california  (look for an ad in
the back of any PC Magazine issue) - I have nbeen using their products for
years and am extremely satisfied - from DOS bar codes, to windows fonts, to
hardware.  Very helpful staff.
