In my case it happened when I in R:BASE for DOS version 6.5++ Build 1.866 on a XP system issued the following command : Zip cdm /c copy listfile.txt lpt5 *( It happened when the listfile.txt was relatively large and a lot of other windows was open ) With the help of a UDF from Dennis McGrath it seems to me that that I finally (fingers crossed) got rid of the problem. I cant explain why, but as long as it works I stay happy. Besides the UDF from Dennis I now routinely in my code the following statement which also helps: ZIP CMD /C exit Thanks Dennis and Albert Gunnar Ekblad
