Hello all,

Have been anxiously awaiting the new enhanced Timeout command and ran some tests over the network with an app running under RB7 runtime.  Here are the results:

RBA Application main menu - WORKS
Dialog box waiting for input - WORKS
Form in the middle of a field edit - WORKS
Choose command waiting for choice - WORKS
Informational form (scrolling region with a pushbutton) - LOCKS R:Base - must Ctrl-Alt-Del

I found it interesting that a form with no input fields would just lock up.  This was the behavior of Timeout before the enhancement.  I don't know if this is an oversight or if windows behaviour by it's very nature just will not allow this to work.  I'll put a report to RDCC just in case it can be addressed in some future release, although I must admit this is a minor problem if you are using the application designer but could be a MAJOR problem if you are using menu forms as the front end to your app.  I'll have to try a pure menu form that isn't called by a "designed" application to be sure of this.

What I am excited about is that this was more that we could hope for in terms of functionality in editable forms, dialogs and especially choose boxes.  I use other programs written in Delphi that cannot do this - the programmers tell me they can't make it work - and the users are just as frustrated as some of us were without this great command.

Regards,
Bob C.
