I would make the col for (CVAL('COMPUTER')) Text(63) just to be sure you
can grow with networks. As for (CVAL('NETUSER')) "the book" says you can
have up to 20 char for a username.I don't know of any preset limits for RBase on these CVAL options.. or
for that matter what RBase maps them to exactly, other than this...
RBase does map the (CVAL('NETUSER')) to the windows user name so
if the person had a different logon name for Netware or some other
login process it will pick up the windows version.Jim

I appreciate the help so far, but maybe I should have been a bit more general and stated my actual need. I'm trying to design and create a USER_SESSIONS table. Anybody have any suggestions, examples, etc? I plan on having a bit more than just UserName,LoggedOn(Off)DT(TM) columns, such as (CVAL('COMPUTER')), (CVAL('NETUSER')), Etc ...
Thanks so much,

Anybody know what the maximum string-length of a computer (hostname)
can be in Windows?
