I seem to remember a thread about outputting a report to CSV format, but I could not find it.
I am writing an EDI application and need to create a CSV file. I know I can EXPORT through Gateway, but it poses a particular problem. I have to get one field of information from an accounting package through ODBC. I have tried creating a view to include this info, but the ODBC driver is so extremely slow, (this is not an Rbase problem) it makes the file creation time unrealistic. Also, I have not figured out how to turn off the column headings in the export file. (I tried Set Head Off, but that did not accomplish the task) I can create a report, and use a lookup variable to the ODBC table and the speed is fine! (Evidently, their ODBC driver does not handle views very well. I did insure my linking columns where properly keyed) However, while reports give me much more flexibility in creating a data file, it does not have a CSV output format. Any ideas would be appreciated.
