Hey Steve,
we used pcanywhere as well until we found out about
"remote desktop connection" which comes as part of windows itself (so its
free!).
Its very very fast compared to anything else I've
seen and when using it, it feels like you are really there using the
computer.
Im on a cable modem to a server in a data center
and most of the time it feels like im working on a local windows machine except
for a little floating bar at the top to minimize the session.
this is where you download the client
program:
I dont quite remember exactly how to set it up but
i can get some info for you if you need it, a friend of mine helped me set it
up.
Also, you can change the options of this program so
it has more or less detail to use or conserve whatever bandwidth you have
available.
This is by far the best option IMO
