I remember that there is a DOS level printer redirection command for PRN that was used for R:Base for DOS with Windows NT and it seems that it worked for 2000 as well but I can't seem to remember it or find it.

I think the command you're looking for is Net Use
net use lpt1: \\Server Name\Printer name
Net Use /? gives you the command syntax for it
