Hi Wess, We have 2 servers running r:tango on windows 2003 and let me tell you. The first time we installed we had a heck of a time finding out why taf files weren't getting processed. The second time we installed, took us a lil bit to remember what we needed to do but here's the low down:
What you have to do is go into IIS admin and enable witango to be able to run from IIS. You have to add it to the list to enable it. It seems that in windows 2003 programs/DLLs/erc are defaulted to not be able to be run from IIS so you have to manualy add them in before they will run. I hope that helps, if you need more detailed info let me know (: Alan Wolfe ----- Original Message ----- From: "Wess Jolley" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "RBASE-L Mailing List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, October 26, 2004 9:49 AM Subject: [RBASE-L] - New User, with a question! Hey Folks! I'm new to this list, but not new to R:Base. We've been running off R:Base here at Dartmouth since (believe it or not) back in about 1985 or so... My question is actually about R:Tango 2000, and I understand from the folks in the office that someone here might be able to help... My question is whether or not anyone has done an installation of R:Tango on a Windows 2003 server. We're trying to do an install, and running into some problems. I didn't want to do a ton of debugging on the install until I made sure that R:Tango 2000 was compatible with the 2003 server. I should also mention that we have a Sygate firewall in place. As background, everything seemed to install fine. We've been able to create the ODBC data source without any problems, and the web site is running. We also show the Tango service as running. But the web browser doesn't seem to accept the .taf file as valid, so clearly the calls aren't getting through to Tango. If anybody has done this and would be willing to give me a moment of technical support, I'd be grateful!
